Tuesday July 15, 2008: The Search is Almost over

Now, on to Legally Blonde The Musical: The Search for Elle Woods.

Last night was pretty intense. The return of Bailey (well, not so much) and Rhiannon (huh?) made things very uncomfortable in the loft. Autumn and Lauren were surprised to see the tall blonde return, and she could sense it.

The challenge was to see who could be a triple threat and still show she had the "it factor". Autumn shined during the song and acting bits, but was really tested during the dance. The others seemed to balance out over the three disicplines, but no one stood out particularly. The audition was brutal. "What You Want" is most likely the toughest number in the whole show.

Rhiannon showed personality and danced well, but she didn't have the stamina to maintain composure to project throughout the whole number. James even told her he thought he was going to have to give her CPR.

Bailey could have failed miserably because she got the wrong hat. She made it work, although she did miss words in the song because she kept having to move the hat out of her eyes.

Lauren, in my opinion, was the best all around. Her voice was great, the dance was sharp, and she kept the engery up. Tesley was right, though, when he pointed out the improv sections really showed her age.

I was so proud of Autumn last night. She gave it everything she had. The vocals rocked, she danced her heart out, and she kept the engery sky high. she was so excited and proud of herself that she left the stage dancing.

Then came the empty list. All four girls were sent to the casting office. To my dismay, Lauren was sent home. This left the other girls thinking they were safe until Tesley relayed to them that Jerry Mitchell only wanted to see 2 girls in the final audition.

And that was the end of the episode.

I am supremely upset that I don't know who is going to be in the final and even more upset that I won't be able to watch it while I'm in the city. I am hoping, hoping, HOPING Autumn wins because she is the best performer all- around.
